Afternoon folks,

Now with the Christmas time approaching, and my travels beginning to get more complex, I've been considering getting a Sat Nav. I've asked folks at work what they'd recommend, and they all say Tom Tom no question about it as that's what the drivers at work use for all their routes. Though this got me thinking to when I was looking around first cars. When we looked at the Aygo, there was this flip up, flip down holder on the top of the center console, where there is usually a sort of indent for chucking the phone or similar, and when asked, he said it was for the Sat Nav.

So this got me thinking, is there a unit availible for the 107 that fits into that space? If anyone knows any more about it then I'd love to hear more as it'd make a nice addition to the interior seeing as all I've gone mad with in there is a new gear k**b. If not, then any advice on Sat Navs? Thanks in advance!

I looked into this not long ago for my car, as it looked pretty cool in the aygo. You can buy the full surround from toyota that holds the radio, hazard button etc, and has the flippy bit on the top, so would be a full replacement of the one you have in atm. If i remember right it was around £120 then you would need to buy the satnav to go in it. Bit of a rip off in my opinion, which is why i left it.

Hope this answers your question Smiley

Thanks for the reply Mickd, didn't think it was a whole Toyota unit, thought it was an additional part that you could fit in, but I saw it way back in January. Is a bit of a rip you have to get your own sat nav in there too, would just have been nice to have it all fit together rather than have it stuck on the window and have cables around. Thanks for clearing that up, don't think I'll be spending £120 + Sat Nav cost just yet!

I've just bonded a Garmin mount to around the same area and run the wiring up the vents

Does the job and looks ok. Not as neat as the aygo but I'm comforted by the extra £120 in my wallet

If I had a wallet and £120 obv

I'll post a picture if you want

Looks like a damn nice set up ya got there, was it much work to get that installed? Cause as much as I wouldn't mind pulling apart my interior, I know it'll never go back to how Peugeot put it if I did it. Still worth a shot  Smiley

There's also a slightly different way of doing - which I have done in my Yeti.

Buy a Garmin "sticky disk" (note - when stuck it's pretty permanent, so be careful!) and stick to dashboard - this gives a nice flat surface that I have stuck my TomTom to, and then hide the wiring.

I have the "flippy lid" in the Yeti, so all closes down and is invisible when parked.  Other advantage of the lid is it does shield the unit from light, so can make it more readable in bright conditions.

I thought about the sticky disc option bit the surface where I wanted it wasn't flat enough

It's ok as is as its removable if you wanted to

Not sure that GPSs are as nickable as before. Every daft bugger seems to have one stuck to their windscreen in their line of site. They are the new dangly tree airfreshener
