Well, this weekend Me and the other half (Mark) drove to Cardiff from Sheffield/Rotherham in the C1. We filled up the tank so it was full and set off on our way. We decided that we would drive nicely and see how much we could get out of the tank and then using how many litres we needed to fill up by after, work out the mpg figure.

The first bar dropped at 107 miles...
The second bar dropped at 194 miles... (meaning I got 87 miles out of the second bar)
The third bar dropped at 266 miles... (72 miles out of the third bar)
The fourth bar dropped at 341 miles... (75 miles out of the fourth bar)
The fifth bar dropped at 416 miles... (75 miles out of the fifth bar)

We got home, drove to the fuel station and the miles were 434 just before we filled up. We managed to fill up with 32.38 litres of fuel costing 111.9p a litre.

Using a mpg calculator, we used 32.38 litres over 434 miles which gives a total of 60.93mpg, so 61mpg basically

Bearing in mind, that on the way it was running standard weight with two passengers and the aftermarket, wide, low profile tyres. But on the way back we were carrying four 17" alloys with tyres.

Really proves just how efficient our cars are!
Did pretty well there Amy, also you were doing 2 long trips so will have boosted the mpg.

I reckon it could have been between 63-65mpg, if I had the standard tyres on and didnt have so much weight in the car on the way back, so I'm very pleased with my little bug Cheesy Had 3 litres left in the tank when I went to fill up again so could have got at least another 50 miles out of it before it died, so that would have been around 480miles out of the tank!

Reprise  Cheesy

Excellent result..... but the 17" alloys you picked up could make for a  more  interesting thread! Too much Mr Sensible around here recently [ Except for Mig of course  Cheesy]

They were indeed for the other halfs car, brand new tyres and 17" alloys for his Seat Ibiza for £50 was too good a bargain to miss. Hence the reason for driving 4 hours down to Cardiff from Sheffield to go pick them up and then back again! £40 worth of fuel and £50 for alloys and brand new tyres is still very good. You cant even get a decent tyre these days for less than £50 and thats only the tyre, not including an alloy Cheesy So overall a fantastic bargain and a great weekend Smiley
