any one know when it is coming out or if there is going to be one . ?
Pug did promise a forthcoming 110bhp GTi version at the initial 107 launch, but it's gone awfully quiet since...

Here's a recipe.

Take 1 x red 107, pref non XS

Remove wheel trims & have wheels powdercoated white.

Lower slightly.

Have grey bumper panels body colour coded.

Fit OE Peugeot 106 Rally graphics (omitting the actual '106' sticker).

Nice back box.

Twin front fogs integrated into the lower bumper.

OMP wheel.

Racy front seats.

Remember that 'less is more'

I'm just itching for someone to do it and earn my lifelong respect.

When i'm asleep, if i'm not dreaming about a naked Nigella Lawson smeared in Marmite in a bath of Guinness with a copy of the Racing Post wedged in her bum crack, then i'm dreaming about 107 Rallyes! Cheesy

That recipe was for a Rallye, a range of motors which have traditionally had no more power than the cars upon which they were based, but more edge in other ways.

Bit of fluffy nonsense then?

The original 106 Rallye was truly stripped out, less sound deadening, keep fit windows etc and was punted as a base for competition use, and a lot of them were (and still are) used as such.  The PHII 106 used the motor from the 1.6 XSi, which is closely related to the Paxo VTR, and suspension & brakes cribbed directly from the GiT, so whilst it was still a handy tool, it was a bit softer and not quite so convincing.  A parts bin special, rather than a more bespoke effort.

They tried a bit harder on the 306 Rallye and t came with thinner glass, keep fits, no aircon etc, and was a genuinely sweet motor.  Unfortunately, it was never much of a competitive car in any of the racing classes for which it was eligible, so never really caught on the way the 106 versions did.

I quite like the look, but couldn't really give a monkeys about ever running on a track, so the main signature items, like the decals, wheels etc will do for me.  Mine will be fluffy nonsense, but the pug built Rallyes had a purpose, both in marketing and homologation terms (esp the phI 106, which used an engine size unique to the car, instead of the larger 1400 XU unit from the XSi, qualifying it at the time for band 2 in the Production Plus - now Group 'N' once again - class.)
