I did see an advert on the Perrys website - bolton I think for a 107 rallye.

Although I think it was a 3 dr urban with spoiler, fogs, alloys, aluminum sill, gear k**b, parcel shelf, exhaust thingy, etc.

Price looked good though it was about £7300.

Usually the Gti has a bigger engine - I think it would spoil both the character - and what owning a 107 is all about.

cheers

when i was looking at buying mine i was looking around my local dealers and in my closest dealers there was a 107 "sport" but it was mega overpriced, so i called another dealers (the 1 i bought mine from) to see if they could beat the price and they said there is no such thing as a 107 sport! they had just put all the extra parts on it and sports stickers!

So be careful if you find a "GTI" Check it aint just a standard 1!

I guess thats what most variants will be, they will be dealers specials with all the trimmings minus the furry dice !

The only Gti model I would like to see would be a 1.0 turbo option like the smart. (I know they are 599cc or 699cc not 1000cc!)

Another 40 or so bhp at the wheels would be pretty cool - I think the insurance and road tax might just go up though.....

on the Gti note does any one know of any after market back boxes, mods, etc - engine remapping thats been done? or it is still too new.

cheers

A German company has remaped to 76PS(bhp) and the Tuning firm Musketier has some exhausts for sale. I am also looking into the Cecam option that is used on the C1 cup car in Italy. Looking like it will retail at around £580 for the full system including a decat manifold excluding shipping. Just for info the retail price of  the Peugeot cat and mainfold is £698.92!!!

"The 107 is to be built alongside the upcoming Citroen C1 and Toyota's tiny Aygo in a joint development at a factory in the Czech Republic; being derived from the current Citroen C2 underpinnings, the 107 should be roomier than the model it replaces. The engine range should comprise the usual PSA-built small-capacity city engines (1.1- and 1.3-litre petrols and a 1.3 diesel), and probably a 1.6-litre GTI version for boy racer types with up to 110bhp  but probably no more to keep insurance prices to a minimum. 1.6-litre GTI version for boy racer types with up to 110bhp

whats the point, its taking the pricnipal of saving money away, a 1.6 ltre would jus drink the petrol away plus insurance!!!!!!!!!! gotta have money for that!!!!!!!!!!

my verdict no brainer POINTLESS

Unless you love the look of the car and see its potential just want a bigger engine and more power.

Turbo is the way to go, I had a 599cc smart with a BRABUS remap, exhaust, ram induction etc. All in it made for about 85-90Bhp, but it's the Torque from a Turbo that's really worth having, and the way a small turbo can be economical when you want! Smiley The Smarty was cool, except the Merc dealers were pish and the cable operated sturmy- archer three-speed gears on my grandads pedal bike were more efficient than the six speed sequential in the Smart! It really was the most appauling box I've ever used, and heaven forbid you wanted reverse! Tongue
