I'm looking to have a glovebox lid fitted to my 107 but I've been told they aaren't very good, and it'll break pretty quickly. Has anyone fitted on to their car, and have you had problems?

I've been offered one for £30 but i don't want it if it'll break after a couple of weeks.

They are really flimsy when you open it, but if you dont man-handle it too much and rag it when you open it, it should be fine. Had mine a year now, and still looks as good as new and hasn't broken yet. You just have to be careful when opening it, dont open it fully down or rest anything in the cupholder slot, as its not strong enough. It keeps everything hid away safely, and finishes off the dash perfectly Cheesy I'd say go for it!

As Amy said, they are flimsy if you are a little rough with them but will do the job. I believe the C1 store does an extra for it to make it more sturdy. Have a look on the site.

There you go, needs a woman's touch. Heard a few peeps had problems with catches breaking and there was a replacement part/fix, but as Amy says looks like it's a plastic part that don't like rough handling or us blokes treating it rough  Cry

The glovebox is a must, somewhere to hide valuables. Mine is fine after 6 months and I'm not gentle with it. One piece of advice I would give is buy a glovebox for an Aygo, there is a difference the handle is much bigger and more sturdier.

107fan do you work in a well known national electrical retailer?

I've had mine fitted for 6months+, it's still in one piece but is does pop open from time to time (mine is packed solid with general rubbish though).

Box lid? Go for it! The only thing about them is, sometimes they pop open going over bumps or if you pack stuff in the glove box, the pressure against the lid makes it pop. There is a plastic clip/catch part you can buy that goes in the dash hole that the handle lug fits into that tightens it up. I've had a lid on my Blue Urban for 3.5 years and it only popped a couple of times when something was pushing against it from behind. When I traded my Grey Urban, I swapped the lid from it into my Verve. It never popped on the old car but did on the new. I fixed it by putting a couple of washers between the lid and dash (where it screws on) to lift it higher and now it's sound, unless it's stuffed again. Grin
I never bought the "fix" part for mine, someone on here did a year or so ago, think he said it was only a quid.

Put the glovebox lid on today. Seems ok to me but time will tell! At last, somewhere to hide the sat nav!

No I don't work for an electrical retailer, don't tell me you've seen another one in the Chester area like mine!

Just had to take mine out. The clip broke and I bought it off eBay so no dealer to moan at Sad

Wasn't too rough with it or anything, it just snapped.
