I'm at 64,000 now and I have just been phoning around for a quote on my clutch.

My gears went super tight and no free play on the pedal, then I noticed it wasn't disengaging properly; as my dad put it 'totally f***ed'.

£225 parts and labour.

Yer, that's about right ... there was some silly stuff like £500+ a while back on here as the norm... hopefully it was ignored but I suspect some were fooled.

Hello All again. Well! Peugeot had the clutch back for inspection, they reported no heat spots from customer misuse or any oil/grease contamination and said it must be just something (although they couldn't find anything) with the components so they refunded the money back to me Yay. That's restored my faith a bit in the car. I may though in the future if it goes again get it done by a Toyota agent and get them to fit the beefed up version, unless somebody else tells me that a pattern clutch is a better bet in the meantime. I know this is an old topic but I just wanted to say I'm getting the uprated Toyota clutch fitted next week by an independent garage so I will let you know how it is for next time. The previous owner of my car had a new clutch at 2 years and 23k miles and guess what? I'm having mine done at 4 years and, wait for it, 46k miles. Go figure huh?

There must be a fair variance in quality of item out there and (stating the obvious) driving styles to boot.  Ours has just clicked over 41k and no signs at all of wear as yet.

Fingers crossed I guess!

Couldn't agree more Matt. Its peeps like us with mechanical sympathy and one left foot that show there is nothing wrong with the clutch. I pulled away smoothly through 31k today!

My 107 1st clutch with huge ammount of abuse from learners every day lasted 36k so I am sure if It was just me using the car the clutch would have easily lasted 50k maybe more

Alright clutch is in. its a 2006 on a 56 plate and I wouldn't bother with it! since the new clutch its developed some terrible noises and the garage hasn't a clue what they are.

Horrid rattle noise above where the second stage kicks in on the engine at the time when the exhaust sound changes. It sounds like its coming from the gearstick the garage should be having another look next week to sort it.

Cost £300 all in.

Is there a clutch in an  automatic?  If so, where is it & how would you know if there was something up with it?

Yes there is and I imagine in the same place between engine and gearbox (its a semi-auto the 107 aint it?) anyway you'd know there'd be all sorts of odd noises usually. Someone on another thread was talking about hers having problems you may just have to search around for it I will have a quick look for you but i think her changes were jerky and she had excess revs just after changing gear (like slipping on a manual) which is what I had on mine except obviously mine was a manual.
