Send Peugeot your Reg No and VIN No and they'll let you know.
You can use the email form on their homepage.

The problem in the States has been with the fly by wire pedal fitted to automatics. Surely the 2 tronic has fly by wire and therefore would be the one being checked. Handsome Devil says only manuals are being checked but I thought these had had cables and bent wire pedals.

It would appear from updates to the issue that ONLY 36 CITROEN C1'S in the UK have been recalled, yes, just 36 cars. CITOREN C1 MANUALS ONLY are affected if they are equipperd with the Electronic Stability Program (ESP), and not all Citroen C1's in the UK have such a device fitted. No deisel powered Citroen C1 is affected by this recall. No Citroen C1 manuals without ESP or Peugeot 107 manuals without ESP are effected by this recall.

ESP was not fitted as standard to UK models and was an optional extra which the customer could request, and was fitted at the build stage at the factory. Therefore only 36 UK Citroen C1's have ESP. So little C1's have been affected as Citroen did not release the C1 with tip-tronic gearbox in the UK.

As this was also an optinal extra on Peugeot 107's built between 2005 and 2009, I would imagine that the number of manual Peugeot 107's to be affected by this recall will also be very small indeed. So, if you ordered your brand new car and requested ESP as an optional extra, or your transmission is tip-tronic (Peugeot 107 / Toyota Aygo's only in the UK), you'll be affected, if not, you've nothing to worry about.

Guess what, I'm one of the unlucky 36!

Surely it's not officially a recall until VOSA say? There is nothing on their website so far about any of the cars.

Ian, I had this from the horses mouth (Citroen) this morning, as they have been in touch with me to say that my vehicle, as it has ESP fitted, is one of the recalled vehicles. I asked for more details of the problem so that I could keep members informed, and that's the info they gave me. Nearly all Toyota Aygo's are affected as Toyota fitted ESP as standard equipment.

Are you sure the Aygo has ESP as standard, My mums does not.

UPDATE

6,676 Peugeot 107's have been recalled.

If your car has ESP, or is a semi-automatic tip-tronic, your car will be recalled within the next few days.

That shows C1 owners are tight!

The problem is with the bearing between the pedal arm (metal in the case of the 107) and the electronic throttle control .... Toyota have a fix .

You design some wonderous piece of technology called a 21st century car and manage to get the 'GO' pedal wrong Huh How did they manage that?

All the whizz kids doing the super stuff and someone forgot the boring bits.

Reminds me of the space shuttle when they left the numpties to stick the foam on...

So manual 107s and C1 s do not have this electronic throttle control but have a conventional throttle cable instead?

 Huh

My guess would be that all the throttles are electronic  and we are dealing with a certain batch of the CTS manufactured control units fitted to a series of cars on the production line in Kolin over a period where if the bearings of the pedal were subject to wear and /or humidity + rust  they would ultimately stick in operation either wholly or partly to slow the pedal return.

I personally would rather have a complete new pedal/control unit assembly (BOF 1 16A35A) fitted than have some mechanic disassembling the control unit to put in some kind of shim on the pedal bearing.Chances are this would not get done at all.
