They'll get owners details from VOSA.

my 107 has to go in at 8am on wednesday morning, as they are starting to recall 2007 reg cars.
John, ask them while it's there if they are inspecting only, or replacing parts?

Will Peugeot contact the original person who bought the car from new? As I purchased mine second hand privately.
I'm not sure, but maybe they'll contact the registered keeper.

According to Bloomberg the recall for the 107 and Citroen C1 will be about 100,000 vehicles - some 10% of the production. " The pedal parts were supplied in the U.S. and in Europe by CTS Corp., said Juergen Stolze, a spokesman for Toyota in Germany. Toyota has said that customers will get repair details next week and that parts from Elkhart, Indiana-based CTS will be replaced or new assemblies will be installed. "http://www.bloomberg.com/apps/news?pid=20601087&sid=ac8OhIzOIbGs&pos=5Mine was manufactured in Aug 2008 and has the Aisin automated-manual E-drive gearbox (are these affected?).

Recalls have been around for years so there is probably a standard procedure now? So... if you qed-end some poor sucker you can claim the throttle stuck....that's handy

A quick look on Servicebox for my VIN reveals my car has Part No. BOF 1 16 A35A fitted as the accelerator assembly and visual inspection shows that while there is a metal arm to the pedal ,the plastic assembly above resembles the faulted assembly shown in the video with the metal inserts arrowed and without all the bolts of the Denso assembly.
Is this the assembly manufactured by CTS Corp of Indiana USA I wonder.

1601 R4 01 ?..an "electronic" pedal mechanism?.....is this the faulty unit?...a "fly-by-wire" accelerator module that is continuing to "send" a wrong signal to the ECU and . All very interesting... an electronic throttle sending the throttle opening to the ECU Have a look at the diagram on this page for the Easy-drive Automated Manual Transmission ( 2-Tronic and Toyota Multi-mode).Presumably the manual gearboxes share this throttle set-up for the Engine Control Unit (ECU). http://www.aisin.com/product/automotive/drivetrain/ot.html

Yes chum, PSA get ownership details from VOSA if its a safety related recall, and then distribute those details around the country to the registered keepers nearest dealer. The letter usually comes with a tear off slip on the bottom to inform the dealer in case you've sold the car in the last few days. If it's non safety then the dealers themselves send out letters to folk they've sold the affected models to, and hope they still have them. Chris, yours has a different part number to the rest so one would think not, but you'll know soon enough I guess.

That link only takes you to the home page.
Select 107 as a model Chris, and then whack in the part numbers in my earlier post.
Alternatively, check under 'engine', then 'supply', then 'accelerator pedal and cable', then select the one appropriate to your transmission.
I have some hooky logins that get me into the premium sections which details repair procedures etc, but there's nothing on there yet.
