Rev limiter - it'll cut every second spark for a short period (8 or 10 seconds), then shut the ignition off entirely until revs drop right down again.  That said, the rev limiter may have been designed by the man who designed the pedals...

It'd be interesting to see if they are fitting modified parts to the Aygo, or simply inspecting them to cover their bottoms, before hassling PSA with emails on something about which they may genuinely have no knowledge.

Stop being pedantic; I'm entitled to a bit of poetic licence Cheesy

Sorry Doggit Wink

This recalls to mind a customers car.  Can't remember his name, but he was a nice little Japanese feller with a Volvo 960, his pride and joy.  One day the throttle stuck open driving round Milton Keynes and he suddenly found himself at the helm of a 3 litre 24 valve 2 tonne missile.  Being an auto he couldn't declutch and it was was relentlessly accelerating.  He ended up hooning round and round one of the council estates at relatavistic speeds before going for a quick airborne jolly, dukes of Hazzard style.  To say the poor feller looked shaken when it was towed into us would be putting it mildly.  We still sniggered though!

lol Love it could he not just turn the engine off. I know he would lose power steering But surely that would be better than being on a out of control rollercoaster.

Do you think this could be used as a defence to speeding?

Very interesting point Ian. I would say it would all depend on the circumstances of the speeding offence. And whether the driver took all other precautions to prevent the car from speeding e.g applying footbrake fully and letting the car slow right down then turning ignition off. To me these seems a big grey area that a certain famous motoring related lawyer could probably get someone off the speeding offence. Smiley

By a creepy co-incidence, I got a recall notice for my 308 through the post today.  It's a software update to correct a problem with the headlamps unexpectedly switching themselves off while driving.  Nice...

Been texting my man J R Hartley.  They've not been told to order any alternative parts, so it might be an inspect and butt cover thing?

Has anyone had experienced an issue on the 107/C1/Aygo that we know?

yh thats right john i went in to the dealer that i got mine from and they said that they will be recalling some of them but wot they do is that they (peugeot) only send out a 1000 letters at a time recalling them and they cant tell you if yours will be recalled as they are still going through things so all we need to do is sit and wait it out.

Just remember you can sue for any loss or damage resulting from this defect.

Has anyone suffered any loss or damage on a 107/C1/Aygo?  Indeed, has the 107/C1/Aygo yet been established to be faulty, or is the recall precautionary?  We won't know until monday at the earliest, so all this talk of suing is getting a mite hysterical.
