Well, to be fair I've been riding it a lot so it's only really had standard maintenance.  The eagle eyed will notice the GSXR600 SRAD rear shock installed in there, after much machining, swearing, hitting with hammer, thwoing tools, and kicking things...

This'll be a fiddly pain, but I'll refurb them myself.  New diaphragms, main jets, pilot jets, needles, emulsion tubes x 4, then set up the left pair, set up the right pair, then match both pairs, then swear and throw things when it doesn't work...

And I've been polishing...

and i've been painting...

And while they were drying I did a quick mock up with the R6 seat unit.  Looking good.

It's all going to grind to a halt come Thursday for a spell, but once i'm fit I will resume and everything that can't be polished or chromed, will be painted black.

I love this old girl and I'd never sell her, but she's only a 600 and I can't get by on just a small bike so Project Big Bastid will be joining her soon.

Need to take him half a mile up the road to school on it. I used to run half a mile every morning to the bus, and the same back home after school. Then when we moved into the town, I ran thee quarters of a mile between home and school four times a day. What's happened to his legs? The young these days, I don't know!!! Roll Eyes

Sorry but there aint no chance in hell my lad is walking on his own in a dodgy city centre often in the dark given the times he has to go at the age of 9, maybe 12 when he goes to secondary school so at the moment he gets dropped off and picked up by me on the way to and from  work and seen as I currently and quite possibly in the future be working 30 miles away i need more than my tired old legs to get there  Tongue

Hey Stiigy,

Back to the Piaggio - It comes in 250 & 400cc engines. Two decent seats. Two front wheels, which should be more stable. Best of all you done need a motorbike licence, you can use your car one !!!

Or buy a Yamaha R1 Cheesy

In a weird way I like that. Looks like fun and the fact I don't have to take anymore tests to ride it appeals to me But It only gives bhp figures does not say top speed or acceleration. Would It be as quick as a 107?

Top speed of the 400cc is 100mph I believe - but it may take quite a bit of time to reach it.

Personally I can see the appeal of such a bike (trike/car) - but the price is stupid! I think RRP is over 6k! It's cheaper to do your test a get the bike you actually want. But many city folk don't have the time to sit extra tests/courses and just want something to get them to work a little quicker.

Yeah totally agree looking at that price of £6k I think I would rather get my motorbike license and go through the test. Than spend that sort of money on a fairly average performing bike. I expect it will do OK for the very wealthy that want to indulge there kids with a fun thing for there private estates. Good Find smc.

The Visor Down road test review says it does 80mph

MCN is saying 100mph.

http://www.motorcyclenews.com/MCN/bikereviews/searchresults/Bike-Reviews/Piaggio/Piaggio-MP3-LT-2009-current/

Maybe the 250cc is 80mph & the 400cc is 100mph.
