Are they much better at night than a standard bulb setup?

No, they just allow the headlamp to be smaller.

Would they allow the inside of the headlamp to be painted black (as it doesn't rely on a mirror reflection?)

Thinking back to my 407 which had projectors, quite probably.

I assume it must be like my Black Halo lights on my Pug? They work fine and are black  Undecided

This is the z1000 with them though:

If the bike was blue it would look like Sonic the Hedgehog in the last picture!

Well lets face it - I'm an accident prone magnet and trouble seems to find me!  Undecided

Didn't take long for me to get in to a tussle with the z750, this time i wasn't the only one involved:

Two busses blocked the thatched box junction in front of me and when the lights went green I snuck through the gap inbetween them (bus driver realised he's error and waved me through, gap wasn't big enough for a car though), only thing is a cyclist decided to jump the red light (from the other way, heading up a one-way street the wrong way) on the other side of the buses . . . BANG. . . Lights out cyclist ! I hit him slap bang in the centre as he crossed my path!

We then erm . . let say exchanged 'words'- he put the blame on me, and put the blame on him.

I said he shouldn't of jumped the lights and shoudn't of been going up a one way street the wrong way.

He said i should have looked both ways after riding through the gap (even though the lights were green for my lane of traffic only) and I was travelling too fast? Even though i had only just pulled away from the lights? I couldn't of been doing more than 15-20mph

I did end up dropping the bike (but he went flying!!  Cheesy ), but kept on my feet, It all happened soo fast I didn't even touch the brakes! Damage: The ball on the end of my clutch lever is snapped, but i've always wanted some short levers !! Grin

Final thought - The cyclist got NAILED big style - We didn't exchange details, as we were too busy arguing. I think he took my number plate down and I guess i'll wait to see if I hear anything!

(all this and my first years NCB is due on the 10th Oct!  Lips Sealed )

It's the cyclists fault. Why didn't you give him a good hiding?

The 'we exchange words' was a nice way of me saying I was 'threatening to smash his fooking teeth in!' He soon zipped his mouth! Can't blame him tbh, when all 6ft2" of me standing head to toe in armour is 2" from his face! Cheesy

Ahh, I haven't had a good arguement in years!! I'm usually soo laid back.

sorry to hear about Your accident. But at least you are ok and the Bike is still riding fine. I Think The cyclist was completely in the wrong. They do funny things its a proven fact the rigorous exercise they do provides them with a extreme release of endorphins. which makes some of them act like twats.

Chaz, your reply is so random with a strangely humorous twist! Smiley

I love cycling, I've really been biten by the 'self power' bug - but with Borris introducing these hire cycles in London & the ride the work scheme there seems to be so many peeps on the road with zero road sense.

(I'm no way saying I'm perfect, far from it actually, but seriously some people are a danger to others . . . and themselves! )
