Took it to the Yamaha Dealers this morning, he straight away mentioned the tank respray  Embarrassed he said good effort, but they would need it 100% perefect to resell (fair enough I guess)

They also mentioned the MT's battle scars (bar ends, mirrors, rider and pillion pegs, swing arm . . .

Also said it's due a service, which it is.

Also mentioned the flat spotting on the rear rubber (which is fair tbh)

So, talking in consideration (another Grin ) respray, rear tyre, good service, and a good few bits and bobs to tidy up he offered me £2,050 . . . . SOLD!! Cheesy

Could I have got more privately, most probably, but I just don't have the time for all the fannying about tbh.

I was looking at the original paperwork I had and paid £3,199 for it so just over a grand loss Cheesy Cheesy but I don't care.

Main problem is I got a cheque! Sad so I have to wait for that to clear before I can get my hands on the Z750 Sad

Excellent

Its not really a loss its the cost of using it including the accident damage so not too bad.

Couldn't agree more, I could live with the blemishes and the few marks it has, but that doesn't mean someone wants to buy it in that condition (especially from a dealers)

Cant wait to get the Z750!!!!' Cheesy

That's not bad going, but you could've squeezed another £50 out of them - the "it needs a service" trick is often used to batter down the price of a trade in, but most punters forget that the dealer will have to service it anyway to sell it retail.

Good luck with the Z.  Is it green? (Mine was)

You read Boke(sic)?

You'll be telling me you read Pravda next.  Still, not as bad as MCN I suppose.

I had a Kawa 550GT one time; very solid but hated the sound and feel of four cylinder bikes so never went any further down that route. Think the Ducati monsters look awful so it would probably be the Truimph 675 non-Daytona jobby for me.... bucketfuls of mid-range torque always does it for me Grin

Wots Pravda? Wasnt that the communist news agency?

I love MCN - Mrs Q reads from back to front to see if theres anything about Rossi. I read from front to back to look at the motorcycle porn.

Wednesdays, hot bath, MCN and a glass of red - luxury.

Hey, Doggit. I had a 1989 GT550 in blue.  It's fair to say I loved it.  The appearance was a bit staid, but it looked like a proper bike at least.  Comfy, a nice shaftie, reliable.  The only thing I didn't like was the short gearing and the lying bar steward digital fuel gauge.
