Hey,

To replace my old 'Motorbike Advice' thread  Cry - Which previously stared life with me intrested in a range of bikes, to booking my intense course, to clothing questions and finally purchasing my bike Grin (All the advice i received was of great help!)

Anyone been out riding in the winter? I've been out abit, was riding last Tuesday (in my summer gloves!) which did leave my hands with a mild chill to say the least.

Ordered some Alpinestars Chill Gloves today -

http://www.dirtbikebitz.com/images/products/gloves/08as/CHILL-GLV-BLACK.jpg

Hope they keep my finger tips a slightly bit warmer, otherwise heated grips are being purchased ASAP Cheesy

Still rolling around on my crappy tyres, I REALLY NEED TO GET THEM SORTED ! They've got plenty of thread, just not many grooves! - Gonna just get some Brisgestone BT-021's - From £200-230 fitted

Was also looking (just looking) as this Kawasaki ZX 636 - It got snapped up today, I think someone got a great bargain!

You will have to buy a bike like this to get it out of your system as you have been on about it since you started your previous thread Cheesy.

Sadly, they only feel good in their very limited power-band. This attracts attention in any gear...In 1st or second you will be lifting the front wheel and making a lot of noise. In the other gears you will also be making [lovely] noises and be over the speed limit. Policemen love peeps with bikes like this as they can top up the the targets at the end of the month.

Despite its Wow factor I think you will get bored with it quite quickly unless you get into trackdays or are prepared to go out riding after 3am when the roads are clear and the cops are taking a nap....a table napkin over your numberplate is still a wise precaution though Grin

Fine advice but you are one eighth soffits age (approx)

Get the bike - plenty of time to buy crayfish and quails eggs from Lidl later in life

Its defo down on the cards for the next bike - will keep the MT-03 till the end of the summer at least.

I'm still abit hit and miss with the MT-03 - The gears seem rather short, and i've found myself bouncing off the rev limiter a few times. Its quick (enough), but it just doesn't feel quick if you know what i mean? If I gun it away from the lights and glance at the digital speedo it seems to get up to a reasonable speed rather quickly   but then thats it? I only notice how quick it is when i look back in my mirrors and nothings there!

Most of the power seems to be down low, plently of torque, over rev'in it is pointless - I'm always looking for the magical 6th gear on it too which doesn't exist! I believe the top speed on one of these is 115mph, but i struggle to get it past 102mph (on a track of course!) Not sure if its to do with it running slightly too lean from the exhaust system? Or i'm just a tall & heavy git!

I still make plently of mistakes, and the MT-03 is rather forgiving.

When i grow a big enough pair of balls i want the KTM RC8 Smiley Looks like a beast!

A proper Thruxton.... Cheesy

That funny silencer was brilliant...under 60mph the bike seemed to fire at every telegraph pole then the notes seem to join up in a wonderful growl when over 60. I had a Viper, a 350cc Velo but the same applied. The most sensual bike I ever owned

I think there is  place under the seat for a pipe and slippers...the 2004 boxer cup replika is a classic

Your a bit behind the times soffit, BMW are making some of the most exciting bikes at the moment whereas the japs are stuck in a world of well developed mediocrity.

A fireblade beating sportsbike and a six cylinder bike on the way.

Theres still a problem with  the car image though BMW Balding Middle-age w****r  - they should change the name

I've not been riding - a combination of deep snow and a slightly broken elbow kinda put me off the idea, so I've bitten the bullet, garaged the Fizzer and finally stripped it for a full rebuild.  I'll do the motor myself (and have already begun) but get the wheels, frame etc pro done.

Hossy on Thursday for my 'I, Robot' arm fitting, then when I'm recovered it'll be time to start work on "Project Big Bastid - A Hairy Arsed Sickle for Hairy Arsed Riders".

All will be revealed Wink

Fizzer, not Fizzie old chap.   was always to big for a Fizzie, so started on a DT50, then to a KMX125, then straight to a GSXR1100G.

I kinda like the Beemers (and have had 2), but with the recent dip in finish standards the price is unjustified.  That said, then Yen is suffering and a lot of the Jap stuff is in the BMW, Ducati type ballpark now.

No, project Big Bastid is a little more imaginitive than something from the showroom.

PS - Is Mrs QED some kind of Pegasus type creature, half burd, half BMW???

imagine this, but without the engine, then you'd have a feel for how far along I am refurbishing the Fizzer...

PS, sorry about the pic quality - the lighting in my garage is dire.
