Ello...
Am new to this forum, seeing as my other half has just rang me to tell me her 29m old 107 left her stranded due to a completely failed clutch !!!!
She heard a ping & then no clutch  Huh??

The "ping" sounds like a cable snap or a complete pressure plate/fixed plate snap ?
Any clues ?

Has there been any acceptance that Pug class this as a warranty ?
especially seeing as its been dealer serviced & only done 22k ?

Cheers

Peugeot will only class a clutch as warranty UNDER 20k miles. Believe me - I know.

Do a search for Miklad and read all about it mate.

Anything over 20k miles and its classed as 'wear and tear'.

Now if your car had a Toyota badge on the bonnet, it'd be covered up to 60k miles.

s***e isn't it?  Shocked

Sorry to be the barer of bad news.

Just spoken to my other half..
& i got it wrong,
the 107 has only done 16k & was last main dealer serviced at 12k,
the AA man has now turned up,  & is checking it out.

I concurr, at 16k even a wear plate is not fit for purpose.
If its a machanical failure then it should certainly be warranty work.

Will do a search on Miklad's link

Panic over...
as it turns out....seems the clutch cable & linkage has failed.

My other half spoke to Evans Halshaw in Doncaster & after learining it had only done 16k,
said they would probably undertake this as warranty work
"providing it had not been messed with".

this experience has not exactly filled us with confidence tho... Huh

They replaced ours at 22k or 23k miles, so I wouldnt worry.

They said "now if we take it out, and find its been abused - we wont cover it and you will have to pay"  Lips Sealed that did not fill us with confidence either, but if it helps you - I abused the crap out of mine and they didnt spot it so you probably have nothing to worry about at all

How do You abuse a clutch?

You are a driving instructor??

1. clutch incorrectly setup
2. resting foot on the clutch
3. slipping clutch
4. high rpm when pulling away
5. using clutch to hold the car at lights etc

Not saying I did all the above, as I didnt

And the prize goes to......drum roll.........mooo.
Congratulations for getting the most reasons Grin  My original clutch was so worn, the most they'd ever seen, they refused warranty as they said it was my students just plain abusing it, 21.5k miles, my other cars had lasted 60-70k before needing replaced. I said from the start it wasn't set up properly as the pedal needed to come up 3/4 before bite point.
Funny how when it's 3rd was fitted a mechanic said "You don't want the pedal coming up too high or it'll not release properly and wear it out quicker. Angry
