I bought one of the cheap Ripspeed ones from Halfords for £39.90. I have to agree with the reviews on their site, for the money it is very good. It wont shake the car to bits but it will give you a decent amount of bass to compliment the front speakers. I have alpine front speakers and a pioneer stereo that lets me block the low notes to the speakers and control the sub from the stereo. The only trouble with doing it through the stereo is that some bass is too much on some songs and ok on others.
I will have to try it out with the remote control you get with it and i should then be able to adjust the bass on the fly.

Colin.

I was looking at that one but changed my mind. Yet to hear one of the ripspeeds so would be interested to feel the difference.

I haven't seen the active sub, but it is a Clarion. Here's a link to one.

I wouldnt mind and underseat sub.  But Im not sure if they are compatable with the default head unit.  I dont really want to change this as its flush mounted with the dash.  I wouldnt like the look of the wasted space with a custom head unit.  Any knowledge?

no not compatible with standard head unit , if u get a ripspeed under seat sub u can wire it in to the standard system where the rear speakers would wire to .

I think you can get an adapter Part Number VAR888, which will allow you to use a sub with the standard HU, it will be much cheaper than getting peugeot to do it. Or if you don't have rear speakers you could do it that way. However it probably won't get good quality with only being the standard HU.
