Auto Express commissioned a satisfaction survey called Drive Power 2009 and it didn't shine favourably on the Czech trio. Whilst people liked the reliability and running costs, everything else is pants apparently. The tables for scoring various aspects of the car work by the lower the number, the better it is.

Toyota came 13th in the manufacturers satisfaction table (behind Kia in 12th), Citroen came 28th and Peugeot came stone dead last in 35th (behind Renault in 34th and even Alfa Romeo who came 29th). Winners were Skoda, 2nd was Lexus and 3rd was Porsche. Somehow MG Rover came in 17th!

Many thanks to Mark M.K. for the info. He's now gloating behind his Fiesta.

" Whilst people liked the reliability and running costs".....

Thats what the car is all about FGSake!. If they want an Aston Martin for 8K they should join a help group or something.

I sometimes read car forums and think these peeps shouldn't be allowed near anything mechanical...enhancing the speed of someone with no brain is just asking for trouble.  Grin

wow, really surprised by this.  Most people on here and out in the real world really seem to like thiers.

i have a few gripes about the car but overall i like it.  Only had it 6 months and no great worries, i'm going to get the seat sqeak looked at soon and i'm a bit worried about the clutch (its sometimes very hard to get it into gear.

It's is weird because i have never heard from anyone who owns one that they don't like it...

And i don't understand what performance people expect, you can't get fuel economy and performance maximums.

Depends what you compare it with. If someone offered me a free year in a 107 or anything else would I choose the 107?

Realistically, today you choose between your budget, your fantasies and whether your grandchildren can breath anything palatable.

I don't think this is very enlightening. My last car was much bigger than my 107. It was quieter. It rode better. It was more comfortable. It was faster. It had a far bigger boot. I was well aware before I bought the Pug that it could not match my previous motor on any of these points - it was not designed to, and frankly I'd be an idiot to complain that it didn't.

Therefore, although the size, noise, ride, speed and boot size are inferior to what I had before, I am not remotely dissatisfied with those aspects, because they are in line with my expectations. It actually exceeds my expectations if I'm honest - it's nippier than I thought it would be, and roomier, and I think the ride and handling are more than adequate for a city car. It's fine in the city, its natural environment, but it copes better than I thought it would on country roads and motorways. I came to the 107 having twice had a C1 on hire in France for a week (and having had a week in a Panda, which I considered) and now I actually own one and had to live with it it's better than I thought.

It's a nice car. I like it enormously, and I've owned and driven all sorts in 30+ years of driving, including 10 years of professional driving. Outside this forum, I know only two people who have one - a friend who has an Aygo, and a neighbour who has a 107. They both like their cars a lot. So in my unscientific survey, 100% of those who responded thought they were pretty good!  Wink

I know very good post. I really hate having to explain to people what the car was built far and bar a few people on the Aygo Forum having some leaks, everyone I know loves there car, so who did they survey, people who obviously don't understand what the car was desgined for. Its like complaining a motorbike has no doors to me.

And Ali...ssssshhhhhh, I didnt tell people I go lost, just redirected lol

Agree with you Stiggy, I just posted my rant in General section, only just seen this.

For what it was built, running costs and reliability, it did very well. Unfortunately a survey is only as good as responses given. I completed the survey and scored the Pug 107 for what it is a cheap city car, not a sports car or an estate.

It's mainly because people are saying it isn't fast, but it isn't made for that. As also with practicality.

Its not a very good survey to be honest, reading up on it, the C1 and 107 were not involved due to too little responses and the more people that wrote in and took part the higher up the rankings would be on the triplets.
Far more people wrote in about the Jag XF (or Ford mondeo look alike in my eyes) so it won, for it to be a fair survey it needed to take an even amount of opinions for each car  Sad
