6 speakers? High gloss alloys? 9 airbags? Climate control air con? Big car feel in a small car then. Makes the Aygo look like the black sheep in the family

It's a smaller, lighter gearbox and diff required in order to shoe horn it in. The engine itself is the same, but with less mass to propel makes less emissions.
Prices start at £9k though - why spend £3k extra over a C1 or 107, in order to save a few pennies on road tax or fuel. You'd need to drive it for 90 years to recoup the road tax saving at the current £35 for the 107...

Ooh, and I bet it'll go like stink, especially if they give it that rumoured upgraded engine from PSA with the turbo! Nope, the fabled blower motor won't be materialising. For the 2011 model year (mid 2010) PSA will be parting company with toyota for the engines and have their own range of 1 litre 3 pots in development from 70 to 100bhp, all normally aspirated, and all targeted to be under 100kg CO2/km when fitted to the existing Bzero 107 platform. So, brisk performance, excellent economy and emissions, but in a proper sized car (not like the stupidly tiddly iq) and at an accessible price. Nice try Toyota, but the rest of the world is already moving on.

It only weighs about 45kg less than the 107, less if specced up. Thats less than the difference in weight between me and Sparky, so the size of the driver will likely negate any gain here. I'm thinking more what they've done to the gearing (new 'box, remember?) to get under 99g CO2/km?

I'd be interested in one, assuming a decent deal can be had trading the 107 in.
I always wanted a Renault 5 Monaco, but had to settle for an Allegro Vanden Plas instead... Ooh I loved that car!

The Allegro or the Renault. Im am Allegro fan - parents had a 1750 (?) HL in flourescent green that I learned to drive in - it was excellent.

The first All Agro I had was in metallic brown.
Proper quality motor car, picnic tables in the back - ace for mates to skin up on (allegedly) I had the 1500 for a year, then bought a quad lamp HLS in orange with a 1275 motor that I had in the garage with a few more excited ponies in.

Brings back memories...
I tried to persuade my dad to get an Allegro Equipe (the one with the starsky and hutch stripes, and leaky alloy wheels).
Luckily he ignored me (and same again for Alfasud).

QED, I know it's grossly off topic (I'll beat myself up later) but my first car was an Allegro 1750HL (the HL was the TC after the whole range got new trim designations). Squits beige with a hand painted chocoltae brown speed stripe daubed up seach side. Sheer class.

You'd need to own an Iq for 2 centuries to break even over a 107 in terms of saving on the road tax.
You could also buy. 107 and fuel iit for about 30k miles for the price of a base Iq.
And the shorted wheelbase does little to improve on the 107s already lively open road stability.
Buy a 107, rip a seat out, cordon off half the boot, and weld the drivers seat in the fully rear position, while simultaneously setting fire to at least £2000 and you know just what the Iq experience is like.
