The only engines that have real character have two cylinders or less. After that they just sound fussy......Until you get to twelve Grin

Hi All,
Dont want to P155 on your crisps BUT...........The VW 1.4 twin turbo jobby also won best in its class. It was described by a motoring journalist as being as refined as a man on crutches, falling down the stairs.........
The PSA/Mini engine features too.......see 207oc for turbo issues....
Its a bit like the adverts telling you.....voted best car 2008 in January.
We know the engine is great.............thats we we own one!!!

Don't worry, I am a realist, and treat these awards with consideration as you never know who is on the judging panel.
Anyway, gives the car bigwigs a night out to enjoy themselves!
But still think the engine is very compact, well designed and pushing more power than some 4 cylinder units. Grin

In 2007, the honour in the Sub 1-litre category at the International Engine of the Year Awards goes to the Toyota 1-litre three-cylinder petrol engine found in the Aygo/Citroën C1/Peugeot 107 triplets, plus the Yaris/Echo/Vitz.
...except it was originally a Daihatsu unit...
