I would want a certificate saying anyone involved in the production of my car was breathalised. Russia is still a basketcase. Its strutting its stuff on the back of oil prices and not much else.

Recently Toyota has also opened a factory in Russia, they are going to about 20000 toyota camry (i think it will be the first luxurious cars built in russia) and they're hopping in the next 2 years raise the production to 50000 cars/year.
The GM, Ford and Hyundai have also production units in Russia. Also I think Nissan, Suzuki and Mitsubishi have plans to follow Peugeot-Citroen and the other maker's footsteps.

Producing your car in where it will be sold makes a lot of sense. This pragmatic approach gets around all sorts of posing.

That, and the fact that production in Russia is quite cheap and it has quilified people. The avarege monthly income in Russia is about 300$. And since the cars are produced in Russia (where up until recently the production of not russian cars was almost none) they will be more affordable for the russian pockets.

Well, actually I'm Russian (even thought I haven't been there for about 8 years) the freezing cold is actually only a month or two (talking about the west side of Russian) and the summer can get actually quite hot ( I remember days when it went almost up until 40C). That's just the image everyone has: Russia = Super Cold Country ^^'
Anyways, the cars still do work at the Russian winter temperature. And trust me, the kind of cars that were on the road about 15 years ago (Russian made) sucked big time (they had 20k km- about 12.5k miles - warranty) and usually start having major problems at about 30k (about 18.6k miles). And yet, they still worked in the russian cold. Pug? Pug's most certainly with the right car will work.

Some offtopic: I don't if you guys heard (I don't even know which company makes this cars). There are cars that you plug-in into electricity and set a time. At that time the car starts to heat it self up, so that when you have to get out the car is doesn't need any heating and you get into a warm car =)

Their accented english is beautiful and so is their attitude. Last week I bought a new walking jacket at our Cheap/as/chips store - Trago Mills. Mostly staff are pissed off they aren't swanning about in M&S and it shows. The Polish lady who served me treated me with due respect without a hint of deference. I asked her where she came from. Poland she said. Welcome I said. She beamed a smile that weakened my  knees even though she was quite plain.

Dogs is aware that the Polish that come to England are educated and/or have some 'Get up and go' But is a pleasure to me they come to us rather than plenty of places on the way.

Dogs,
I had a similar in Tescos at 1130pm on Weds night. I did my works tea fund shop(yes, I really am important!!) the lady on the till was chatty and smilley and I realised that she was Polish. Her English was excellent, and her attitude to work is the reason she has a job. Sadly it does mean that our "unemployable" move further away from ever contributing to our failing economy!!
When I stand for PM, people on the dole, will work for their money!! No work, no money! National service for unemployed teens, bring it on!!

Unfortunately, in myline of work I meet the less than pleasant Poles, of whom there are plenty.  Misbehave in Poland, and you risk a phenomenal beating, and imprisonment for even the most trivial midemeanours. They then come over here and can't believe how light the punishments are, and some go nuts, happy to risk the laughable punishments our left wing do good no good pnko commie justice system dish out.  Mind you, even the villainous scum from Poland are usually well educated, and will often speak 4 or 5 fluent languages.

10%ish of any group/tribe/nation will be ne'er do wells. Alas, without any effective filters we will have to continue to rely on the long-suffering Inspector Slag and his pals to keep any rotters in check. The fingerprint checks for non-Eu people seems a good start and I can't see why this shouldn't be applied to criminals within the EU as well. Giving a bad egg a choice of 27 countries to cause trouble in seems pretty stupid to me. Keep all your bad eggs in one basket is my idea - now which country in the EU shall we choose? Cheesy We used to have Australia - surely it can work again? Cheesy

Sarge I do agree. Iv'e had a three month period on the dole as it was called then. It is demoralizing and also much harder than working I found. You need to be so self-disciplined; whereas with work, if an employee, you are carried along by the job as it were. The system brought in under the Clinton administration of time-limited benefits has, by all accounts worked well. Something on these lines is being pushed by David Camaron as his idea.
