Right, just called local dealer, they have a centre armrest in stock and also a glove box lid. I asked about the glove box lid in a previous thread, and the general consensus was that it is not worth it, and the dealer tended to agree.
Now, I like the idea of the arm rest (cost is £93 inc VAT); although this has been discauused on other threads before, I couldn't find any conclusive statements about the fit/quality/use of the arm rest.

Has anyone actually got one? Is it worth the money? Is £93 an okay price?? I understand it is fiddly to fit, but willing to do it if it is good...

Well, just got back from dealer - arm rest actually looked to be really quite good quality, but it is a bugger to fit. Got a photocopy of the fitting instructions though, so if anyone is thinking about fitting one I can give them a copy.
Not sure if I will purchase, I held it in place in the showroom car and it didn't seem to make much noticeable difference in the cabin. Also got in the way or the handbrake. Storage for CD's etc in arm rest was nice touch though....

In the pic I saw it looked a bit big? Is this the case?

No pics, sorry, I should have though cos I had my new W810i camera phone with me too and could have tried that out!! Oh well...
As to the size of it, I guess it is subjective. When it is in the car, it does look a reasonable size, but mainly because it is a small car. Compared to the one I had in my 3 series, it is quite small. It did feel very solid, and as far as comfort goes I think it would be really good on the motorway. You can fold it up too it you don't want to use it.
